about

"I'm at that age where many people in my age group are getting married. And friends in generations above me are getting divorced and perhaps remarried. It has made me reflect on the time I, through gritted teeth, accepted a proposal that still educes anxiety attacks... bullet dodged. I am not one to go through the motions of a ceremony that was originated by a sexist intent and mask it with the name 'love', regardless of how much our society has modernized it. Not for me. There are other ways I secure my romantic companionships without breaking my bank or having the government involved."

lyrics

Rusty rings kept in Ziplock and odd-ish talk of wedlock
"I could buy you one someday" -- I couldn't form words to say.

Four days later, a non sequitur, "Let's invest in more structure.
What about a jewelry box?" So surely stuns the fox.

Blood pressure: 70 or 99
Throat closed. Emotion is undefined.
I'm fine -- stuttering trying to tell you...

What I do is not the business of state or church-like witness
Write me a song that goes *oompah*
I'll call it "Common Law"

There's no need for legislature so let's rewire the gesture
Write me a song that goes *oompah*
I'll call it "Common Law"

At night while sleep eludes me absurdist fears, they creep in crudely:
Some drunken knelt arachnid slurring for my hand in marriage.

Hand me that camera, Cousin
Thank Dream, it turns to poison.
Retaliate, decapitate!
Dismembered legs in strikes of eight!

Blood pressure: 70 or 99
Throat closed. Emotion is undefined.
I'm fine -- stuttering trying to tell you...

I'll ask you for the weather
Somehow it sounds so much better
Like water poured at 3AM
Let lyricism calm the stuttery mayhem.
